Over the past century, Congress has slowly handed over many of its Article I powers to the Executive Branch, weakening the voice of the American people. From protecting safety nets for seniors to overhauling our immigration system, I’m committed to restoring the balance of power and delivering real results for South Carolina’s 1st congressional district.
This is where I stand →

PRIORITIES
Current Social Security recipients will have their checks slashed by 20 percent in 2033 if we don’t take action now.
We promised generations of hardworking Americans that we’d take care of them in their old age if they worked hard and paid taxes. But the system is breaking, and if we don’t do something immediately, Social Security and Medicare will eventually cease to exist—leaving millions of aging Americans in a dire situation.
Without touching the benefits for current recipients, I will legislate to:
Extend the ages for eligibility to stabilize the program
Personalize Social Security for future generations
When I’m in Congress, I promise to cut the waste and mismanagement that put retirees at risk and fight for responsible, long-term solutions that protect what our seniors have earned through a lifetime of work.

America is the shining city upon a hill. People come here from across the globe searching for freedom, opportunity, and a better life. But our great nation was built by immigrants who came here the right way, and unfortunately, we’ve lost control of the systems and processes that once helped us flourish.
There’s no doubt immigration will continue to be a pressing discussion in Congress for years to come, and I plan to support policies that make the legal immigration process efficient and fair.
I support nations having borders, and I support using economic incentives and disincentives to control who enters our country. With these beliefs in mind, I will:
-
Legislate to eliminate asylum and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and replace them with unlimited, free work visas for low-skilled workers and high-skilled workers (H-2A, H-1B and H-2B)
-
Negotiate a fair path to citizenship for the Dreamers
Those who want to contribute to our country should be able to do so, but Americans should also feel confident that we’re welcoming productive members of society—not criminals.
-

There’s no way to sugarcoat it: Our health care system is a mess.
Buried under layers of bureaucracy and red tape, the cost is getting higher, yet the quality of care is getting worse. It is past time to do the following to improve the quality and cost of health care in America:
-
Without reducing benefits to current users, extend the eligibility age for Medicare
-
Gradually transform Medicare into employer/employee Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
-
Break the link between employment and health care by removing tax deductibility for employer-paid insurance
-
Everywhere possible, return health care to a “fee for service” model, which works in every other portion of our lives
I will always advocate for health care reform that expands direct care options and brings down the cost by restoring health care as a service, not a corporate transaction.
Health care products and services are commodities. By removing third-party payers like insurance companies and the government, market forces will keep costs down.
-
Medicaid currently has no ceiling on annual spending and offers few incentives for beneficiaries to transition off the program. These flaws must be addresse

I will legislate for and fund the most effective and strong military in the world (including the Space Force)—but will rarely vote to use it.
America is the greatest and strongest nation in the world, due in large part to our highly capable and advanced armed forces. We must maintain and preserve this asset to ensure we can protect our people and deter our adversaries at a moment’s notice. But military power should be used sparingly—and always with a clear mission and achievable goal in mind.
I believe in peace through strength, not endless wars or blank checks for military intervention, and this is the stance I’ll bring to the floor in Congress.
Student loan debt has spiraled out of control for two reasons:
We’ve lied to young people, convincing them that a bachelor’s degree is the only pathway to a good-paying job.
Washington inserted itself too deeply into the lending process.
It’s time to upend the entire system and take the federal government out of the equation.
When I’m in Congress, I will advocate for the restoration of private lending, so we can create a student loans ecosystem that is accountable and fair. I’ll also support alternatives that give students access to affordable, worthwhile education paths, including trade schools and certificate programs.

The wars on drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and gambling have been fought and lost for decades. The root cause is not supply, it is demand.
I will work to reduce the federal prison population by repealing nonviolent drug laws and opening banking privileges for legal drug sales. I will also redirect DEA, ATF, and CBP budgets toward addressing demand-side solutions.
The Founders created a House of Representatives meant to be close to the people and vested it with significant power. Over the last century, Congress has voluntarily surrendered much of that authority.
To make Congress great again, I will immediately work to repeal:
-
Tariff authority that bypasses Congress
-
Authorizations to Use Military Force
-
The archaic Insurrection Act
-
The intrusive Patriot Act
-
